We all have parts...Internal Family Systems (1.19 minutes)

Video Transcript

The human mind is normally multiple; we're born with these sub-personalities. In a non-injured, non-traumatized person, they have a kind of value to them; they have talents and resources for us. But when someone is traumatized, some of them become frozen in time, others take on protective roles that distort their natural talents and can become destructive. Um, and in what might be called, used to be called, multiple personality disorder, is just an explosion of what we normally are, rather than a sign of severe pathology.
