EMDR is a relatively new therapy which can create powerful change in your life in fewer sessions than talk therapy alone. In many cases, EMDR can quickly resolve painful memories, and with them, the self-limiting beliefs that came with them.
During a session, I will ask you to focus on a disturbing memory or emotion, while applying bilateral stimulation (BLS) either with taps, tones or by stimulating eye movement. This BLS, which happens naturally during dream sleep, accelerates the brain’s capacity to process and heal the troubling memory, often leaving you feeling calmer, more free, and with a greater sense of agency.
EMDR works to resolve:
Persistent fears and phobias
Complicated grief and loss
Traumatic or painful memories from childhood
Persistent insecurities or blocks
Excessive anger or feeling triggered
